Hernando Ospina

Hernando Ospina began his career with New York Life in July 2013, bringing with him a strong foundation in finance and accounting. A Kean University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Hernando started as a Corporate Accountant. After three years in the corporate finance sector, he made a pivotal career transition—choosing to leverage his financial acumen to directly serve clients as a Financial Services Professional with New York Life.

His passion for life insurance and dedication to client service quickly became evident. In his first year, Hernando protected over 70 lives and earned Executive Council Membership. His momentum continued into his second year, qualifying again for Executive Council while earning distinctions such as the Life All-Star Award and New York Life Premier Centurion—the latter awarded for writing over 100 life insurance policies in a single year.

Recognizing his early success and leadership potential, Hernando was promoted in 2016 to join the New Jersey General Office’s Management Team as a Partner. In his first year in management, he qualified for the Top 50 Partners Meeting and was honored with the Northeastern Agencies New Partner of the Year Award. His excellence continued with accolades including:
